Relationship between Cornerstone and VTK in MPR mode

Hi everyone,

I am new to OHIF Viewer and frontend development, and I’m curious about the relationship between Cornerstone and VTK in MPR mode, and how they work together.

While trying to understand the implementation of MPR mode in OHIF Viewer versions 2 and 3, I found that VTK seems not to be used in version 3. Instead, version 3 appears to rely solely on Cornerstone to implement the MPR mode.

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could explain how Cornerstone and VTK function in OHIF Viewer versions 2 and 3.

Cornerstone3d uses vtk for its rendering pipeline (completely). Our annotation tools are based on custom made JavaScript css.
